The two Class 87s recently-overhauled by Europhoenix, plus two unrefurbished locomotives for renovation, and a fifth for spares, have been shipped to Bulgaria and, following modifications for the Bulgarian network, entered service with open-access operator Bulmarket. Although originally refurbished for UK operation, the locomotives were further modified for export by Europhoenix with twin pantographs – a first for the type.
